Editor window pulls up two event objects on creation only

When the event editor window is opened for a newly created event, there are two events in the window for the following events: Paramics, Tow, Unit, Witness, Audio, CAD, CCTV, CMSEval. When editor window is re-opened, only the second event persists(needs checking for all event types, only tested for unit type). Solution: find where the extra dummy event is being added to the editor window and get rid of it. I believe that this is also linked with ticket #34.
